BAMBOO MARTIAL ARTS INT’L (BMAI) HOSTS SUCCESSFUL TOURNAMENT IN RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA
Bamboo Martial Arts Int’l (BMAI), an affiliate of Filipino Fighting Arts Int’l (FFAI) under Master Godofredo Fajardo and sanctioned by the International Modern Arnis Federation of the Philippines (IMAFP) based in Manila, Philippines, recently concluded a successful martial arts tournament. The tournament was held on May 18, 2007 at the ROC Compound Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
and featured both Filipino martial arts (FMA) and karate competitions.
Bamboo Martial Arts Intl’l (BMAI) was founded by Punong Guro Nathan Walker, a lakan (black belt) instructor under Master Godofredo Fajardo, Founder of Filipino Fighting Arts Int’l (FFAI) and also a Commissioner for the Middle East of the International Modern Arnis Federation of the Philippines (IMAFP).
The winners of the tournament include :
(1) ARNIS LABAN LARO - 5’4” to 5’5” Division, Roben Tarusan – champion, Barrion Jessie – 1st runner-up; 5’6” to 5’7” Division Barbon Santiago – champion,
Diogo Arguelles – 1st runner-up, Gil Cabaul, 2nd runner-up.
(2) KARATE KUMITE – Armon Mercado – champion, Noel Aquino – 1st runner-up, Michael Aclinin, 2nd runner-up.
