FILIPINO FIGHTING ARTS LAS VEGAS
ANNOUNCES
FALL 2008 TRAINING SCHEDULE
By Jay de Leon

Guro Ildefonso “Jun” Odal, instructor for Filipino Fighting Arts USA, Las Vegas branch, recently announced his school’s fall training schedule for 2008.

Shotokan Karate-do Club, Las Vegas Nevada, Rapido Realismo and Filipino Fighting Arts USA of Las Vegas (Modern Arnis) recently formed a non-profit amateur Karate and Escrima group. Their purpose is to spread the style, teaching and principle of Shotokan Karate-do and Filipino Martial Arts (FMA).

The group was originally set up to cater to Mabel Hoggard Elementary School students, as an after school Martial Arts program. Eventually, the group was commissioned by the Las Vegas-Clark County Urban League to teach at their new Recreation Center, the Dr. William U. Pearson Community Center.

The group offers two styles of FMA, namely Rapido Realismo and Filipino Fighting Arts (Modern Arnis) to qualified students.
Rapido Realismo is taught by Guro Ronaldo Tolentino (toots1911a1@yahoo.com). For the Rapido-Realismo official website, visit: www.angelfire.com/art2/rapidorealismo/menu.html.

Filipino Fighting Arts is taught by Guro Jun Odal (o_jhun@yahoo.com). For the Filipino Fighting Arts International official website, visit: http://www.filipinofightingartsintl.com.

FMA training is free to students who are current members of the Shotokan Karate-do Club and at least 8th Kyu (Yellow Belt). Students 18yrs old and below must attain a release/waiver form from their parents/guardian before starting an FMA class. Release/Waiver Forms are available from Sensei/Guro.

Schedule of Class or practice is every Sunday and/or Monday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and/or 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Rancho del Norte Park during fine weather and/or at Guro Jun’s residence during rough weather.
